Hole No.1 “Casterbridge”

Standing on the first tee you have a beautiful view of Dorchester. This view gives the hole its name ‘Casterbridge’ taken from Thomas Hardy’s name for Dorchester. A generous opening hole that plays downhill, often with the prevailing wind at your back.

Pro's Tip
Take care with your approach shot as you play downhill to a green that slopes away from you. Anything left above the hole risks an opening three-putt.
