How Does Golf Benefit Kids?

Physical Activity: golf involves walking, swinging and coordination, providing a great workout for kids. With 18 holes and sloping greens, there’s certainly plenty of exercise to be had on our course!

Motor Skills: practicing swings and putts improves hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills.

Discipline: golf teaches patience, focus and self-control, as players must wait their turn and concentrate on each shot.

Problem Solving: playing golf develops strategic thinking and decision-making skills, as players assess terrain, wind and obstacles to plan their shots. Our course can be pretty challenging – ideal for young people to develop their skills.

Social Skills: playing golf encourages interaction with peers and adults, fostering communication, teamwork and sportsmanship. Playing golf at Came Down offers a great opportunity to bond with family and make new friends.

Outdoor Exposure: spending time outdoors on the course exposes kids to nature, fresh air and sunlight, promoting overall well-being. Our lovingly maintained course has 360-degree views of Dorset’s spectacular landscapes, as well as the chance to spot sika deer, rabbits, squirrels and other woodland creatures.

Mental Focus: golf requires concentration and mental resilience, helping kids develop mindfulness and stress management skills.

Lifetime Sport: golf is a sport that can be enjoyed throughout one's life, offering opportunities for recreation, competition and socialising into adulthood.
