A Guide to Getting the Most Out of Your Golf Club Membership

A membership at Came Down Golf Club offers so much more than just access to a great golf course all year round. From expert advice and lessons to regular competitions and social events, you'll find plenty of opportunities to make the most of your membership. Whether you play golf as a relaxing hobby, as a competitive challenge, or simply as a way to enjoy the great outdoors, we can offer something for everyone.

We’ve put this mini guide together to highlight a few ways you can maximise your membership.

Play Regularly
To make the most of your membership at Came Down Golf Club, try to play a round of golf regularly, at least once a week. This will not only improve your skills, but also provide opportunities to socialise with other members and admire the breath-taking panoramic views of the Dorset countryside.

Our downland chalk course with excellent drainage makes it possible for golfers to play in most weather conditions. Whether you're playing in the summer sun or the winter chill, the course will always be in tip-top condition and offer an enjoyable experience.

Invite Guests to Play
If you're looking to introduce your friends, family or colleagues to the world of golf, you can do so with ease at Came Down. One of the benefits of being a member is that we offer a preferential rate if you invite guests for a round. Give them a tour of our facilities and head to the Clubhouse to relax afterwards. Why not challenge your boss to a game?

Learn from the Pros
If you're looking to improve your golf game, we got you covered. Our PGA Pro, Nick, and Assistant Pro, Sean, are on hand to offer advice and tips, and lessons can be booked if you're looking to take your game to the next level. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned golfer, with the guidance of these experienced professionals, you'll be able to work on your technique, learn new skills and boost your confidence.

Practice Makes Perfect
In addition to the golf course, we have an extensive range of practice facilities, including practice nets, a putting green and chipping area. Utilise these facilities to improve your skills and practice your shots.

Challenge Yourself to a Competition
At Came Down we offer fully organised competitions with qualifiers all year round, as well as interclub matches for all playing standards.

Open competitions include a Mixed Open, Men’s Open and events for Ladies and Seniors.

Visit the Clubhouse
Our Clubhouse is a hive of activity, hosting both casual dining and special events. Make sure to take advantage of your 10% member discount on bar purchases by relaxing on our outdoor terrace with a post-round drink while gazing at the sunset and stunning scenery. Tuck into a hearty meal or a Sunday carvery at our Clubhouse restaurant or stock up on essentials at our Pro Shop. With its comfortable atmosphere and friendly staff, the Clubhouse is a welcoming place to socialise and connect with other members.

Socialise With Our Inclusive and Friendly Community
At Came Down we have regular social events, giving you the opportunity to get to know our friendly and supportive community. In addition to meeting new people to play against, we offer a great environment for business networking and building professional relationships.

The Ladies Section also host a variety of events throughout the year, including a coffee morning, bridge evening and a Christmas lunch in December.

Go on a Golf Tour
As a member of Came Down Golf Club, you'll have the opportunity to play for free at 19 reciprocal golf clubs across Dorset, Hampshire and further afield. These clubs offer the same top quality golfing experience as Came Down, but give you a chance to mix things up and try something new. All you need to do is book your round via the Pro Shop and you're good to go. Reciprocal golf is a fantastic opportunity to explore new courses and experience different golfing environments.

Members also have the option to purchase a County Card for preferential rates at partner clubs across the whole country.

By following these tips, you can make the most of your membership and create memories that will last a lifetime. So, grab your clubs and get ready to enjoy all that we have to offer.
